FUNDAMENTALS OF INSTRUCTOR TRAINING (FIT)

This course will introduce instructor candidates to the history, structure and activities of the American Red Cross and to prepare those candidates to teach specialty courses to diverse populations, and to introduce them to the policies and procedures of the ARC to ensure course consistency, quality and appropriate training. Upon completion of course, participants receive a student manual and a certification card.

LAY RESPONDER FIRST AID AND CPR/AED INSTRUCTOR

The purpose of this course is to train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED courses to lay responders. They will learn to demonstrate the characteristics required of an ARC representative and monitor participants’ practice and provide corrective feedback and encouragement. Upon completion of course, participants receive an instructor’s manual (with CD-ROM), all student materials and workplace modules, and an instructor authorization card.
