Magen David Adom Society

The American Red Cross is a member of an international humanitarian network known as the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (Movement). In June 2006, the American Red Cross joined with 184 national societies in welcoming Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s equivalent of the Red Cross, into the Movement. This decision reflects the values laid out by the Fundamental Principles, in particular universality and impartiality, which are at the core of the Movement.

This site offers you the opportunity to explore more about MDA and to learn about the background and steps that led to this historic decision. The American Red Cross has been a strong supporter of MDA and is proud to have played a role in bringing MDA into the Movement.
