VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

At the American Red Cross, approximately 90% of the staff are volunteers.  Volunteers are invaluable to the daily operation of the American Red Cross and are the heart and soul of the organization.

Whether you're responding to disasters, teaching Health and Safety classes to the public, supporting our military service members and their families, or working behind the scenes, the effort you put forth as a volunteer has a positive impact on your community.

Below are some of our programs in which you can volunteer. If you have questions or want to get started, call us at 509-326-3330 x214.  You can also download the Volunteer Application.

General Support

Health/Community Fairs

Volunteers set up, provide coverage and answer questions at Health and Community Fairs held throughout the city/county to help educate our friends and neighbors on the programs and services of the American Red Cross.

Special Events
The Spokane Chapter is always in need of volunteers to help with special events throughout the year, including planning, fundraising and event staffing.

Youth Services

American Red Cross Youth Services enable young people to deliver valuable services and programs to the community. Youth can help organize clubs at their schools, schedule blood drives, teach classes, mentor youth, respond to community needs and much, much more.  Youth learn to develop leadership skills, enhance public speaking and fundraising skills and improve the quality of life for their classmates and community.

International Services

This Red Cross program provides services to families within our community that have family members in war-torn countries and refugee camps.  Volunteers may handle emergency Red Cross messages or casework requests for these families.
