Become a Red Cross Volunteer

The Inland Northwest chapter of American Red Cross relies on volunteers to fulfill our mission of providing care and comfort to those in need. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities to fit many interests.  Whether you want to volunteer on a day to day basis, just a few extra hours here and there, or are interested in deploying nationally, this is where to get started! 

It's Simple to Get Involved!

Step 1
Download the volunteer application. Complete the application and then return it to the Red Cross. 

You can mail your application to Spokane Red Cross, Attn: Volunteer Services Coordinator, 315 W. Nora, Spokane, WA 99205 or fax it to 509-326-3336. You may also bring the completed application to your interview (see Step 3).

Step 2

Complete a Background Check.
1.         Go to www.mybackgroundcheck.com
2.         Click on Red Cross Background Check Initiative
3.         Click on Request a Background Check
4.         On the map, click on WA State
5.         Select the Inland Northwest Chapter
6.         Follow the prompts (Select “I am a candidate to volunteer”)

Step 3
Attend an interview.  Once we receive your application, we will contact you to schedule an interview and to begin scheduling your volunteer training classes.
